Clear Aligner Orthodontics

Clear Aligner Orthodontic is the clear alternative to metal braces for adults and teens.

The treatment consists of custom-made computer generated aligners that are changed every one or two weeks. A typical case takes six to eighteen months. More complex cases can take longer.

Unlike conventional braces, Clear Aligner Orthodontic is one of the most convenient methods to straighten teeth because patients can take out the aligners when brushing, flossing, eating, or drinking.

This convenience is a significant advantage over conventional braces that not only complicate oral care, but are also prone to damage when eating hard or chewy foods (i.e. corn on the cob, crunchy taco shells, etc.)

The clear aligners are also more aesthetically pleasing and are gentle on the cheeks and gums unlike metal braces, which contain sharp edges that can scrape or cut the inside of the mouth.

While clear aligners can correct a large majority of dental problems, not all patients are suitable candidates for Clear Aligner Orthodontic. One limitation of Clear Aligner Orthodontic’s technology is that it currently cannot fix severe malocclusion or a badly aligned bite that requires moving molars with deep tooth roots.

Due to the unique circumstances behind each orthodontic patient, it is best to consult with us to determine if Clear Aligner Orthodontic treatment is right for you. In general, clear aligners may correct some common dental problems including:

  • Gapped teeth

  • Mild bite problems (including overbite, under bite, crossbite, or open bite)

  • Crowded teeth
